Comprised of three classic sparkling varieties and hand-picked from the Hencote Vineyard, the grapes in our Isadora English Sparkling Rosé undergo malolactic fermentation, adding a softness and creaminess to the wine. Each component has been carefully blended and matured for fifteen months ‘sur lie’ before release. Ageing in a traditional method adds complexity, but the ageing process is a short enough time period that the wine retains its summer berry fruitiness. The combination of all the processes leads to a flavour profile indicative of strawberries and cream.

This wine is a blend of the three classic sparkling varieties: Pinot-Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay. Each variety is picked and processed separately to capture their distinct attributes. The grapes are all hand-harvested, de-stemmed, and then held on the skins to extract colour and structure. The juice is then fermented in stainless steel and aged on fine lees for up to six months. After this, the wines are blended to create a unique base wine before undergoing secondary fermentation and 15 months of bottle maturation.
The 2019 vintage was marked by extreme featuring the hottest, sunniest, wettest, and windiest conditions defying all predictions. Despite the disruption and lower yields compared to 2018, the vineyard avoided the blistering heat and damaging rainfall resulting in fruit of spectacular quality.
A perfumed bouquet of rose petals, peach and red apple with a hint of soya and confected cherry. Having spent 14 months on lees, it was disgorged in July 2020. Spiced and honeyed on the palate, with cinnamon-seasoned cherry and almond tart, plus more peachy creaminess on the palate, leading to umami depth. Red apple peel and honey roasted almonds last till the long finish, with white pepper tingling on the tip of the tongue. – 93 Points. Sylvia Wu, Decanter.
