The buildings have been thoughtfully renovated to combine contemporary comfort with character.
The Grange, our converted Georgian barn, features seven ensuite bedrooms and a master suite with its own steam room.
The Farmhouse accommodates up to 10 guests across five bedrooms, with two reception rooms and a light-filled orangery overlooking the gardens.
A further two-bedroom apartment offers additional flexibility for larger groups.
Guests can enjoy the estate’s facilities throughout their stay, including an outdoor hot tub, swimming pool, sauna, gym, tennis court, outdoor kitchen and extensive private gardens. Shared living spaces and terraces are designed for slow mornings and relaxed evenings together.
During your stay, you’re only a short walk from the vineyard itself, where you can join a guided tour and tasting, or enjoy a drink and the panoramic view of Shrewsbury from The View.

What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 4pm, check-out at 10am.
How many cars can park at the property?
4 spaces outside the Farmhouse, 5 outside the Grange (9 total). If required, you may also use the car park at The View – as short walk across the garden.
Are children welcome?
Very welcome. Two travel cots and highchairs are available on request (bring your own cot linen) as well as a selection of toys and child-sized furniture. Supervision required around the pool, hot tub, and the pond outside the Grange.
Are pets allowed?
Up to 1 large or 2 small dogs permitted in each building (Farmhouse and Grange), at £50 per dog to cover any additional cleaning. Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on soft furnishings.
Are stag and hen parties allowed?
Stag parties are not permitted. Hen parties may be allowed with express owner permission. Please contact us to discuss your requirements ([email protected])
Can I arrange a supermarket delivery?
Yes. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons all deliver direct to the house. Best to schedule after 4pm on your arrival day.
How many guests can sit at the dining table?
The Farmhouse dining table seats 14, and the breakfast room seats 10. The Grange dining table also seats 14.
On request, the pool room can be converted to seat all 28 guests (this will incur an extra charge and needs pre-arranging. Guests would need to allow 1–3 hours for the switchover).
Dining may also be available at The View on the main estate.
Can I enjoy a Wine Tasting during my stay?
Yes. We are proud of the wine that is grown and bottled here at Hencote. Our Vineyard guests are encouraged to arrange a wine tasting experience during their visit.
Our standard tours take place in The View on Fridays, Saturdays and selected Sundays.
You can request a private tasting (dependent on availability) to be delivered at the house. Please request a quote via [email protected]
We also stock the wine racks in each of the houses for you to sample during your stay. Bottles are priced individually and will be added to your final balance.
What is the nearest train station/airports?
We are very close to Shrewsbury Train Station, which is 1.3 miles away and a short taxi ride.
Three major airports are also in easy reach of Hencote – Birmingham (60 miles), Liverpool (62 miles), and Manchester (65 miles).
Is a damage deposit required?
Yes, £1,500 is held from two weeks before your stay and returned shortly after, assuming no damage is discovered during our final checks.
How do I book and what are the payment terms?
To secure your booking and your requested dates, a deposit will be required.
A 33% deposit is required upfront, with the balance due 12 weeks before your stay. Email [email protected] to discuss a booking or to request a quote.

Can the property be hired exclusively?
Yes. The Farmhouse, Grange, and apartment together sleep up to 28 guests across 14 bedrooms, making it ideal for exclusive group hire.
Is the swimming pool heated?
Yes, the indoor pool (5m x 12m) is heated and features a height-adjustable floor, making it suitable for all ages and abilities. Please note, the pool cools very quickly if the external doors are open.
Is there outdoor dining available?
Yes, there is an outdoor kitchen with a gas BBQ and pizza oven, plus outdoor dining and lounging areas.
Is there a spa or sauna?
There is a sauna seating 4, two hot tubs (each seating 6), and the master suite in the Grange includes its own steam room.
What is the cancellation policy?

Can I bring additional guests for a day visit?
The property is licensed for a maximum of 28 overnight guests. If you are planning to host additional day visitors, please discuss this with us prior to booking as additional arrangements may be required.
Can I decorate the property for a special occasion?
Tasteful decorations are generally welcome, but please check with us first. Any decorations must be removed at the end of your stay and the property returned to its original condition to avoid deductions from the damage deposit.
