Hencote Summer Wine Party, Saturday 8th July 2017
Family-owned, Hencote Vineyard, is hosting a Summer Wine Party on Saturday 8th July 2017. You are warmly invited to visit and explore the 60-acre grounds, vineyard, ancient riverbed, and gardens. There is lunch, plenty of refreshments, sparkling wine, and top class jazz to enjoy.
The party will begin with a Sangria Reception. This will be followed by a guided tour of the vineyard, occupying 15-acres of the estate, grown on south facing slopes looking over amazing views of Shropshire.
Guests are also welcome to walk around the estate at their own leisure. As well as the vineyard, we are proud to have one of England’s few remaining wet woodlands. So if you appreciate the natural beauty of rural Shropshire, you are sure to like Hencote.
Naturally, there will be lots of wine tasting, specifically the types of sparkling wines that we will be producing ourselves. (Our wines should be ready for 2020 / 2021).
Our summer party will include a BBQ Lunch, with options for vegetarians and vegans. Mingle with other guests and do feel free to ask for a tour of The Grange if you would like to see the private hotel that can be hired out for weddings, special events, and exclusive getaway breaks.
Entertainment will be in the form of accomplished singer and performer, Naomi Hart, who will be bringing her blend of jazz, big band and speakeasy blues to Hencote. Naomi is local to Shropshire, so you may have already seen her perform and know what a treat you are in for.
A cash bar serving a diverse selection of sparkling and table wines, as well as other beverages, will be available throughout the day, with proceedings wrapping up at 8pm.
There is plenty of parking at Hencote. The post code is SY4 3AA, which is at the end of Hencote Lane that comes off Ellesmere Road. Despite our quiet rural location, we are just 1.5 miles town, so taxis won’t be a problem if no one is volunteering to be designated driver.
Dress code is Summer Chic with appropriate change of footwear for the Vineyard Tour and Woodland Walk (with an eye for the weather!)
